(Xinhua/Cai Yang) The United States law enforcement handed over a criminal suspect to Chinese police Thursday. The suspect, surnamed Zhu, is from eastern China's Anhui Province. He fled to the United States last year after being accused of "serious offenses", according to the Ministry of Public Security. Zhu was listed on an Interpol red notice and the United States cooperated in his arrest. The U.S. immigration detained Zhu in January this year for illegally overstaying his visa and decided to repatriate him to China after a court trial. Zhu's return marks a major achievement in China-United States cooperation, the ministry said, calling for further cooperation in the future. |
