China welcomes the scheduled DPRK-ROK summit and hopes it will go smoothly and achieve positive results, said Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. The summit is scheduled to be held in Pyongyang in September. China appreciates the two countries' efforts in holding the summit, said Lu Kang, a spokesperson from the ministry. China welcomes and supports the two sides in maintaining their communication and dialogues, Lu added. "We hope the Pyongyang summit will go smoothly and achieve positive results, which we believe will help promote denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the political settlement process of the issue," said Lu. |
