The Chinese mainland strongly opposes Taiwan's history textbook adjustment act as it will only harm Taiwan's younger generations, further weaken cross-strait relations and intensify the nature of cross-strait confrontations, Ma Xiaoguang, spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said on Wednesday. Taiwan is an inseparable part of China's territory and no "de-sinicization" act will separate the historical and cultural links between the two sides, Ma said. |
