Xi urges solid efforts to win battle against poverty

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday called on enhanced and solid efforts to win the battle against poverty.[Special coverage]

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, gave the instruction ahead of the fourth National Poverty Relief Day.

All-out efforts should be made for poverty relief work as it is the toughest of all tough battles, said Xi.
