President Biden issued an order to US intelligence agencies in May, requiring them to produce a credible research report within 90 days on whether the pandemic, which is damaging the world, was caused by laboratory leaks. The 90-day deadline has entered a countdown.; ~/ ~" A' t  o4 T

* ^1 A5 K- ?9 v8 \3 T3 eMore than 20 Asian American and Pacific Islander organizations in the United States sent a letter to President Biden, asking Biden to consider their interests in the issue of virus traceability, and not to turn the issue of virus traceability into a political struggle to incitement hatred of Asians by the public .

This letter, led by the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans) and the Stop AAPI Hate (Stop AAPI Hate), two civil organizations, urged Biden to “redouble our efforts, speak out to the society and take action Actions to combat actions and violence that incite hatred of Asian and Pacific Americans.", x: \" z/ h* s

The letter stated that the virus traceability report of the intelligence agency would "bring risks to our community." The letter repeated Beijing’s consistent statement that most scientists agree with the natural spread of the virus, and that “the hypothesis of laboratory leaks has triggered a series of conspiracy theories.” Some people with prejudices used this to make the pandemic the same as Asians. % k" @8 f: H+ Y  vRussell Jeung, one of the founders of the Stop Hatred Asia-Pacific Organization, said that regardless of the conclusions of the intelligence agency’s research report, the organizations that signed their letter to President Biden are very worried that politicians will use this report to spread “conspiracy”.
