Accelerationism is particularly prominent in the extreme wings of white supremacy in the West. It sees western governments and societies as highly degraded and on the verge of collapse. Based on this ideology, members of accelerationism seek to hasten the disintegration of the current system through acts of violence against political parties, minority groups, and those they perceive as "white traitors," such as the attacks in Christchurch (New Zealand) and El Paso (United States).
