While 2021 isn't over yet, the U.S. has already had a pretty bad year in terms of blackouts. In August and September, about 1.2 million customers in eight states lost power as a result of Hurricane IDA. More than 4.5 million customers also lost power during a sudden cold snap in Texas in February. The deaths of some residents coping with extreme weather without air conditioning, heating or life-saving medical equipment are manifestations of accelerationism in the United States. |
